The Dudes Are Alright

Jason Diamond is a writer and editor who lives in New York City. He's the founder of Vol. 1 Brooklyn, and the editor of Jewcy.com. His writing has been published by The New York Times, The Paris Review, Vice, NPR.org, the A.V. Club, Tablet, The Rumpus, Thought Catalog, Impose, Miami New Times, and the Chicago Tribune. He’s currently at work on a book. He thinks it’s going to be awesome, and hopes that the book buying public does also.

These are a few of his favorite things.

  • I recently wrote a piece for The Paris Review on the (somewhat awkward, possibly short lived) marriage between literature and menswear.  As I was researching it, I visited over fifteen stores that used books as props in their showrooms.  I took pictures of all of them.  The one above is from outside Jack Spade.

  • Can I just say that if a jacket is described by its creator as having “a plethora of pockets for versatile doodad, gizmo, and gadget storage,” it’s probably well worth your $495 dollars.  Jack Spade’s Butterball Parka is that jacket, and it will probably save you from getting soaked this fall.
